Jessica Hess

Ms. Hess was the recipient of the Edwin G. Fernandez Scholarship to attend New Mexico Highlands University in 1992.  Subsequently, Ms. Hess was awarded the University of New Mexico Presidential Scholarship where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Criminology and Business in 1996.  Ms. Hess went on to earn a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Accounting, with honors, a completed same in 1999.  Thereafter, Ms. Hess attended the University of New Mexico School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor Degree in 2002 and was an active member of the Mexican American Law School Association (MALSA) and completed over eighty hours of extensive mediation training.

Ms. Hess has been appointed to serve as a Settlement Facilitator to assist with settlement of tumultuous Domestic Relations cases by the Judges in the First and Second Judicial District Courts. Ms. Hess also serves as an Adult/Youth Mentor in the Children’s Court Mentor Program.

Ms. Hess has also been appointed by the Court to serve as a Guardian ad Litem in contested child custody cases by various Courts and Districts in New Mexico. 

Ms. Hess is a member in good standing with the New Mexico, National Hispanic and Albuquerque Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico.

Jessica M. López- Hess is a native of northern New Mexico. Ms. Hess is bilingual with Spanish as her second language.
